Gambit Enterprises Ltd. (t/a Gambit Schoolwear) is an established (since 1979), family-run business, who supply directly to Schools (mainly Primaries) at factory-direct prices.
Both of the Company’s founders are from a textile technical and marketing background, with combined decades of career experience within the (then) industry-leading Courtauld’s group, before setting up Gambit in their 50’s… quite a challenge during the recessions of the 1980’s!
Operating from the heart of British textile manufacturing in Leicester, we offer an in-house embroidery, screen-printing and transfer-printing production facility.
We have consistently met all of the “back-to-school” delivery deadlines on our British-made products for over 40 years (working weekends and nights, if necessary).
We perceive the social value of sustainable British manufacturing, and are highly selective regarding the reliability of supply and trading ethos of imported brands (and their country of origin).
COVID-19: We stayed open throughout the pandemic, and continue to exercise safe practice in our work-place. We developed technically-sound, UK-Made PPE solutions during the peak of the crisis (i.e. our “not for profit” face mask and scrubs production), and we are especially proud of our association and collaboration with the (USA based) “Fashion Girls for Humanity” during those challenging times… it was a huge privilege to have been directly involved with some of the worlds’ leading fashion designers.
